I have been feeling a little bit lazy this week, so this is kind of an unexpected post, but I thought you might be interested in what I am reading and learning these days! Two books that I have read for my certification are How to Heal a Bad Birth and Preparing for a Gentle Birth. They are both fantastic books for preparing for your labor.
How to Heal a Bad Birth
My favorite quote from this book was “Any path to birth can be good if you have the right information and support so that you can experience those good feelings”. There were a lot of really good quotes in this book and it is jammed packed with information about healing from a bad birth. Definitely helped me work through a lot of trauma from my birth and will help me teach you how to trust your body, know how to advocate for yourself, trust your baby and so much more! It is a little bit repetitive and hard to get through when you are reading it straight through. It is a book that is supposed to be jumped around in and I think that would be a more effective way to read it.
Preparing for a Gentle Birth
I just barely finished this book. I am not going to lie, it is hard to get through, but it has really good information if you want to learn more about your pelvis, and how it works with the baby while you are in labor. It has a TON of examples and pictures to help you know the different positions that you can try. A super good book to prepare for labor.
If you have gotten this far, I will share some other of my favorites "just for fun books". I am currently loving M is for Mama, definitely working through it slowly, but it's a good book to help improve your mothering skills and hone you in. Just a fun book that I will always love is Entwined, I will forever and always love this book. It's been my favorite book for years!!!
