gift guide for expecting moms in 2023

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is this week?! I hope you have fun plans with your families and enjoy your time with them. With Thanksgiving comes Black Friday and Christmas!! I hate that we just kind of skip over Thanksgiving, but here we are.


In 2022 I think that the birthing world and what moms are wanting from people is totally different than ten or even five years ago, but maybe it's just that moms are becoming more vocal about what they need. So here are some things that moms may want that are different than just onesies or baby items. (Not saying you can't get the baby items, but the mom needs things too, she is going through the biggest transition of her life and we don't want to forget her!)


Food Prep Help or Gift Cards

The last thing a mom needs to worry about when she is settling into motherhood (whether it's her first baby or third baby) is meal prep. You can totally bring meals over. Another favorite is ordering something like Beehive Meals, Home Chef, or a DoorDash gift card. You can also ask them what their favorite restaurant is and get them a gift card to there. A really easy way is just to make double one night of your dinner and bring it to them. Just find a way to get a meal to that new mama in your life!


A Doula

You can totally put together a fund to help hire a doula for mom. You can get a labor doula or a postpartum doula. A doula is a big investment and a mom might want one, but not be able to afford it, so you could start a fund for it. You can also check out Be Her Village it is like a baby registry but for doulas, lactation consultants, pelvic floor and more!


Self Care Kit

We all know that a mom needs some self care and you can make it easier on her! Totally make her life easier by getting some of her favorite self care items and maybe add some of yours. Here are some ideas! Feel free to add any of your ideas in the comments!

  • face masks

  • Red Aspen nails

  • drink mixes

  • one of your favorite books

  • a spa day

  • a soft blanket

  • skin care routine kit

A Cleaning Service

This could seem like a boring to gift, but a mom who is gifted a cleaning service will never forget it! Instead of paying for one, you could also just clean yourself. But don't expect to hold the baby. It is super important to remember that this is important bonding time for mom and baby, if she's not ready for you to hold her/him, then let it be. Either having a cleaning service or doing the cleaning yourself, can be super helpful for mom!


A Postpartum Kit

Honestly who really knows what to really expect during postpartum and how will they know what to buy from themselves? One of my FAVORITE things to get mom is a postpartum kit of my favorite things and maybe somethings that I think they will like. So let's get started!
