Do you know that when you are pregnant, your baby releases cells into your body? And those cells will stay in your body for decades? When you breastfeed, the saliva of the baby sends messages to your body so you can provide the right nutrients and antibodies for them. When you kiss your baby you are boosting their immune system, making them smarter, and helping them feel safe. If you can connect with your baby in all those ways, don’t you think that you can tune into your baby in ways no one else can?
Things you will learn in this post
Learning can help you with your intuition
You can trust yourself
You are the expert
& more!
The Birth in the Room
Being pregnant is a scary time. There are so many unknowns. Pregnancy leads to birth and that seems to bring out a lot of fear. Birth is this out-of-control thing that you will never be able to know what is going to happen. You don’t know when it is going to start and how it is going to end, there will be a baby. That is all you know. What if I told you that you could know what is going to happen and that you will know when it starts and you can make the tough decisions during birth?
Well, you can! Learning is such a huge part of preparing. Learn how the hormones work together to get your baby ready for birth. How they work together during labor and when you finally give birth to your baby. Learn how your pelvis moves around for your baby to come through the birth canal. Different positions will help your pelvis. Practice different ways to breathe and work through those contractions so that your body will just remember them with muscle memory. Learn what leads to a c-section. Learn the scary things. They aren’t as scary when you know about them and how to navigate those scary situations.
Learn to Trust Yourself During Birth
Your baby’s lungs will let you know when they are ready to jumpstart birth. You have grown a human over the past 9 months. You didn’t need help, did you? Your body just did it. Maybe there were some problems, but you have navigated through them so far. You were built to birth. Your baby has instincts to help you through labor. You guys have been sending messages to each other for 9 months and you can still do that during labor. Tune into that.
You can practice meditating. Learn about hypnobirthing. Here is a book that I read and loved, it helped me through labor. Learn how to make an environment like the hospital feel safe so that labor can progress. Stress and feeling scared will send messages to your body that you are not safe to give birth.
Tune into your body and learn about birth, it will empower you as you start your journey as a mother.
